Lacin/Christophel Mural & Design is Sofia Lacin and Hennessy Christophel.

Each with their own artistic sensibilities—Sofia, an abstract painter and Hennessy, a writer and illustrator—have merged artistic backgrounds to create murals, custom art, design and graphics for commercial clients and public art projects throughout California. They are truly a creative team, working together throughout the entire process—from brainstorming to executing our designs.

L/C Mural  & Design creates handmade art that is rooted in classic design with a modern approach. Varying from lush realism to clean design, they strive to produce work that is beautiful, timeless and integrated with its environment. They draw from imagery that relates to the classics of the past or incorporates elements of nature—visual influences that withstand the test of time.

L/C Mural & Design’s work is about taking ideas and messages, and thinking of inventive ways to express them with images. It’s always about finding the right balance of giving people art they can relate and connect to, and at the same time showing them something new. Presenting people with something a little unexpected invites them to pause, look and contemplate.

They believe in the power of art and the value that an inventive spirit brings to a community. Their work ranges from transforming a bleak homeless shelter into a welcoming place for children to creating an abstract kinetic installation on a 4 million gallon water tank for the City of Davis. Whatever the project, the work is all about bringing art into the community that encourages people to connect with and take pleasure in their surroundings.

SAME SUN
A kinetic installation entitled Same Sun is an abstract mural covering the surface of a 4 million gallon water tank with the latin phrase ‘Sol Omnibus Lucet' (The Same Sun Shines Upon Us All) encircling the structure.  Sculptural elements along the top edge of the tank cast moving shadows onto the mural to interact with the design. Through the use of shadow and dynamic imagery Same Sun is an ever-changing public work infused with a fundamental message of connection through nature.

RADOSLOVICH / KROGH PC ATTORNEYS
Collective was designed to pop off the wall of Radoslovich Krogh PC Attorneys, a Sacramento area law firm. The challenge of this piece was to create a work of art that would accompany the sleek, modern style of the office, while capturing a sense of passionate debate and resolution. It lives in a conference room that is full of emotion and discussion, and is a visual that complements this environment.

VOLUNTEERS OF AMERICA
Their most personally fulfilling projects have been those that support organizations that positively impact their community.  For a Volunteers of America Sacramento area family homeless shelter, we donated a mural that transformed an otherwise sterile space into an inviting and inspiring environment for those in need.  Their goal was to enliven the shelter by including fundamental motifs of a healthy home.
